A Memorial Collage

This is a difficult time for you and your family and going through boxes of photos will seem overwhelming. However, it can become a healing experience bringing your family together with both  laughter and tears. Often children and grandchildren have never seen the photos of older members of the family from their younger days. Photos packed away in boxes or in albums come to life as memories long forgotten.  These are different styles of Memorial Collages.

Memorial verse and poems are a valued addition to a photo collage.   You are welcome to use a poem, prayer, lyrics of a favorite song or verse within your collage.

17 Places to Find PodSafe Music

Considering LifeStory Designers will soon be opening our own LifeStory Radio Show, we thought it would be great to share with any Designer that would like to start Podcasting. This is one of our first resources.

From Blog Talk Radio:

One question we’re asked a lot here at BlogTalkRadio is where to find royalty-free or podsafe music to download (and upload) for BlogTalkRadio shows. Many of our hosts enjoy playing music for their listeners, but don’t want to violate any laws. Fortunately, there are plenty of places to find royalty free and podsafe music.

What follows are some places to find PodSafe music for your BlogTalkRadio shows. Before downloading any music, please be sure to read the website’s terms of use thoroughly, and to obtain any and all necessary permissions. Also, many of these places charge per download.

Behold:

  1. MySpace: Nikki Starr recommends using MySpace to find Indy bands who would be happy for the airplay. Many of them haven’t signed over the rights to their music but would love to be heard. All you need is for them to send you an MP3 and a letter granting you permission to play their tunes.
  2. PodSafe Audio – A popular place for musicians and music lovers to share tunes.
  3. Stock Music - Offers cutting edge music for podcasts, but you’ll have to pay.
  4. Royalty Free Music - A diverse collection of podcastable music.
  5. PodSafe Music Network – Allows you to purchase music for your podcast.
  6. Magnatune – A record company that wants you to podcast their music!
  7. Creative Commons – There’s plenty of music on the Creative Commons, though maybe not so much in your favorite genre.
  8. CC Mixter – Features remixes licensed under the Creative Commons.
  9. GarageBand – Featuring some awesome independent music.
  10. LoopSound – More royalty free music.
  11. SoundClick – A variety of music available from both signed and unsigned bands.
  12. Royalty Free Classical Music – Offers a nice selection of classical music for podcasts.
  13. Music Track Library – Costs about $15 per.
  14. Opuzz - Buy background and intro and outro music here.
  15. Music Buggy – A place for the people who make music and the people who play music to connect.
  16. Ioda Alliance – An online Independent music distributor.
  17. The BeatSuite - Royalty free and podsafe music.

MOMENTS

What defines a life? Will Hoffman's short film stitches together random, mundane moments from the lives of different people. But watching this film, you feel like they are moments from your own life! The move from one moment to the next is non-linear, non-sequential, joyous, terrible and unexpected, all at the same time -- and yet it evokes a feeling of deep connection and beauty. Here is an invitation to be nourished by what each moment of your life offers.

A Kindness Family

Here's an example of a real life story. I can see this as a load of fun with pictures, stories and kindness items that remind us to "Be Kind" everyday. Meet the Haswells, a self-declared “Kindness Family.” The parents started their own community organization, SpreadKindness.org. The kids started a kindness club at their school. Together, this amazing family is inspiring their community to think, act and be kind. Watch our video to see this Kindness Family in action!

Maria Haswell recalls how it all started: "One day I woke up and wanted to do a random act of kindness." Since that day, Maria and her husband, Mark, founded SpreadKindness.org, a non-profit organization dedicated to encouraging and empowering people to practice kindness in their everyday lives. Their children, Khaela and Ryan took it upon themselves to start a Kindness Club at their high school. The club is dedicated to making their campus a kinder place, and often holds events like free hug days and teacher appreciation days.

If I Should Have A Daughter. . a Touching Life Story

"If I should have a daughter, instead of Mom, she's gonna call me Point B ... " began spoken word poet Sarah Kay, in a talk that inspired two standing ovations at TED2011. She tells the story of her metamorphosis -- from a wide-eyed teenager soaking in verse at New York's Bowery Poetry Club to a teacher connecting kids with the power of self-expression through Project V.O.I.C.E. -- and gives two breathtaking performances of "B" and "Hiroshima."

The Eight Irresistible Principles of Fun

This is from Ian Kath's website. Have you ever noticed how people mask who they really are so they can seem more professional. Sure we do a variety of roll playing in all areas of life, partner, parent, employer or Christmas party clown but some people change profoundly from what they are in their personal life to their professional life, it’s almost like a split personality disorder.

Welcome Jim Sachse, LifeStory Humor Writer

Jim Sachse

Jim Sachse is a retired Army Officer, a vet of the Korean and Vietnam Wars. He had more job experiences than you can shake a stick at. He sailed the Great Lakes on an ore carrier for three years, sold real estate for twelve, was the operations coordinator for a wilderness search and rescue dog unit for a few years, gave seminars on search and rescue methods, and raised cattle. As a freelance writer he wrote Go Fry Your Ass, a satire on hunting and contributed several humorous articles for the International Bowhunters' Magazine and was a humor columnist and staff member for American Bowhunter Magazine. He was married to a lovely woman for over 53 years before she died in 2007, who like Jim, was also born and raised in Milwaukee, Wisc. His Pride & Joy are his 4 children, 14 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.

At 81 years old, Jim is now specializing in creating LifeStory Spiritual Legacies from the humerous side. Much like a living will, the legacy demonstrates what personal values you would like to pass down to your family from a spiritual level.
